Case: Cranky Teacher
During my last internship I classroom teacher never smiled, and acted as if she'd rather be somewhere else. Whenever a student would ask her a question, she'd huff and puff as if it was such a bother to answer a student.
I felt that going to the administration may not have been such a great thing to do. Any suggestions on how (or if) this could have been handled?

Going to the administration would probably not help the situation. These types of teachers are "dinosaurs" in the teaching world. Best bet is to use this as an example of the kind of teacher to not be. |

| Comments: Good idea to be a good example. However, I don't think a "dinosaur" would change just because you're a better example of what a teacher should be. The students of that teacher are losing out if change is not attempted. |

| Comments: This solution isn't particularly helpful as referring to future peers or co-workers in a manner that could be seen to be derogatory is not likely to lead to lasting or positive change. I would suggest that instead reaching out to the supervisor of your internship program and speaking with them about this individual would be the most helpful solution. |
