Case: Walking out of class
In my internship classroom, I have a student who continuously leaves class every chance he gets. We have tried weighted blankets, special chairs, and preferential seating. The student claims that he is always tired and he needs a nap. What do you suggest we implement to give him incentive to stay in the classroom?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
Next time the student is too tired to focus, have them do 5 jumping jacks or push ups. This acts as a brain break and lets them refocus. |

Comments: I would not do this. I do not think by placing a physical demand, the student will respond by staying in the classroom. If anything it might make them want to leave even more. |

Comments: I would not use this solution in my classroom. Forcing students to complete specific physical exercises, especially in front of their peers, is inappropriate and may embarrass students who are not capable of completing the exercises well. |
