  Case: Time-Out
I have a student who very often has to go into time out during extra curricular time, because not listening or fighting with other students. Every time the student has to go into time out he cries and cries and cries. I feel bad but he has to learn. I am not sure how to handle this situation.
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
Since this student is in time out constantly, this child needs a more serious consequence. Maybe this child is suffering a behavior problem, however, I think a more serious consequence needs to take place.

Comments: I do not agree with this. Time out is already a serious consequence to children and trying to up the price of a behavior and ignoring the possibility of a behavior problem is just irresponsible.

Comments: I disagree with this solution. If the student does in fact have a behavior problem, then greater consequences likely won't be helpful. Specific strategies will need to be implemented to help a student with behavioral problems learn how to express their emotions appropriately and adopt positive behaviors that are not disruptive.
