Case: Problems at home
Students that have problems at home bring that frustration and anger into the classroom and it effects their performance academically. How can we as teachers help these students to separate home life from school life?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
Find something that comforts them such as their favorite character, stuffed animal, etc. Suggest that *insert character name here* really depends on them to be a good team player and get their work done. It is relateable for them and might motivate them more. |

Comments: This could create problems like bullying for the child to be different. Otherwise, this may be good but I do not think that the kids could separate the problems. |

Comments: This wouldn't be a solution that I would try due to fact that the other students might see this as special treatment and might follow in the students footsteps thinking that they''ll get the same attention in return. |

Comments: I would not use this solution. To me, the motivator should be intrinsic or something attainable at school such as a good note home. |

Comments: This solution sends a message to the student that you are not supportive. This student will not feel comfortable coming to you with their feelings if you do this. This is more of a distraction from the problem, rather than truly addressing the situation. |

Comments: This may work with the younger students, but a solution for all ages is good too. You could have broken it up into age groups if needed. |
