  Case: Divorce parents
I have a child in my ESE internship classroom where the parents always fight on who has to pick up their child, or always have the nannies pick him up, both parents have shown no interest in the child's well being and has said raising him is like raising a monkey, they only care to see who will win him in the divorce so the other parent will have to pay child support, should I report the family?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
i would definitely talk to a guidance counselor or principal first. if you can tell that the parents really do not care about the child i think it would be best for him to be given a new home.

Comments: I believe that speaking with a counselor or a principal is a great idea, but to suggest the child needs to be put in a new home is a bit drastic.

Comments: I think placement in foster care, or a new home should only be used in extreme cases.

Comments: I do agree the teacher should consult with other staff members who could be of some help however, I don't think it should be taken as far as the child having to go to a new home.

Comments: This wrong! You don't know what's really going on. Talking to guidance or the principal is one thing, but suggesting they be given a new home is too far.

Comments: It is definitely not up to the instructor to decide what is best for someone else's child, especially something this serious
