  Case: Sexual comments.
So I have a teen male that's repetatively made sexual comments that were comedy driven towards a lot of the young females. I've already seen the teacher talk to him about it but it continued. The teacher has already contacted the parents but no improvement. What would be the best course of action?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
This is a very sad situation. I would have a parent teacher conference so you can see how the parents react to this. If it doesn't work have him switched out of the classroom.

The suggested solution is reasonable (easy) for the teacher to implement Yes
The suggested solution is likely to solve the problem/issue Yes

Comments: The parent teacher conference solution seems like the best option in this situation. I don't think if the student was moved into a new classroom the behavior would stop unless he was moved away from all females.

Comments: I agree with this to an extent. I agree with contacting the parents to have a conference, I think seeing their reaction is important. If this were to continue after this, I would suggest to his administrator that he be suspended and if it continues after the suspension then have him moved out of the class.

Comments: You cannot just switch students out of the classroom for problems, they need to be solved with a solution. Who is to say this student won't just say these comments in another classroom? The comments need to be called out and fixed so the problem is put to an end. In my opinion this is the worst solution.

Comments: While I do believe it is important to talk to the student and his parents, simply switching him out of the classroom will not stop the behavior, it will simply give him new targets. Even if were in a classroom of all boys he may still make these comments in a general manner.

Comments: In my opinion switching classes will not help the situation. He will only talk this way to someone else. The teacher needs to involve the parents, administrations, other staff who have witnesses the incidents, and possible a counselor. They need to set expectations and consequences for the student and they need to follow them 100%. This behavior is unacceptable and should not be handled lightly, ignored, or pushed off for someone else to handle.
