Case: Sexual comments.
So I have a teen male that's repetatively made sexual comments that were comedy driven towards a lot of the young females. I've already seen the teacher talk to him about it but it continued. The teacher has already contacted the parents but no improvement. What would be the best course of action?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
Have him suspended |

Comments: I do not agree that having him suspended will solve this problem. The parents have already been shown not to respond to the situation, so you are basically allowing the child to get time away from school. There is no real lesson learned in this solution. |

Comments: Doing just this doesn’t fix the problem and have him learn from his behavior. |

Comments: Suspending the student will not correct behavior. Yes, it is a consequence, but the student must be addressed to correct behavior. |

Comments: Though this solution is appropriate because it could be deemed as punishment for his behavior, I do not feel that it will ultimately change the student's behavior. A truly appropriate solution will create change with the problem. |

Comments: I feel that suspension is a valid course of action if after getting administration to intervene doesn't help, most kids that get suspended don't learn from it and it provides a temporary reprieve from the problem rather than an actual solution. |

Comments: I feel like this wouldn't be much help because the boy would continue the behavior at the next school he goes to. There should be a serious meeting with the boy, his parents, the administration, and the victims of the comments first, so the boy knows how he is affecting people. Just going straight to punishment might rile him up even more and build more contempt. |
