Case: What part of being a teacher scares you?
If you are asked this question in a job interview for a teaching position: What are some things you should avoid when responding to this question? What might be some important points to stress that would get the interviewer's attention? How would you respond to this question?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
I have always wanted to be a teacher for as long as I could remember. I have always enjoyed helping others, and being a part of a students' academic progress. However, there are some things about being a teacher that could be scary. Such things like that you are responsible for other souls and their future are theoretically in your hand. Especially elementary students, their learning completely is based on your teachings. You have a huge impact on how they view the world, how passionate they might be about learning, how they develop as a person all come back to their experiences with you as their teacher. Could you imagine all of this power you hold in your hand for approximately 20 souls a year? Other things like dealing with the negative views from people criticizing your job, and you having to hold up your professional ethics and be happy in the public eye no matter what. The fact that as a teacher you are accountable for the academic success and social development of a student, yet you can get attacked for every method you take to ensure progress. |

Comments: These are true, genuine fears that show that you consider the students you will be teaching. It shows that you have their concerns before yours. I like this advice. |

Comments: I don't think this solution would be affective to use in a interview. I think your attitude towards teaching is more negative than positive. I think you may want to look for a different career. Being confident is contagious and as a teacher you want to think that is possible to effect your students as well. Having this type of an impact on a student each year, you are apart of their lives, you are teaching them life skills they will learn and used daily. I think having at least one fear should be listed, but backed up with at least 2 solutions you may use for your students |

Comments: This solution seems too "text book" to me. It doesn't seem genuine and I would keep it more simple for an interview |

Comments: If I were in this situation, I would not use this solution because it seems very scattered and almost panicky. I would not want to share this information with an interviewer. |

Comments: I feel that in this answer you provided you should be more confident in yourself and to let the interviewer know that even though there is a lot of responsibility when it comes to being a teacher that you can handle whatever is thrown your way. |
