Case: not enough time
There are students in the class that need a bit of extra time to finish their work but then they get behind in the next subject. I usually have them take the extra work home and bring it back but they have not been doing that. What are some suggestion I can do to alleviate this problem?

If it is majority of the students who need extra time to complete their assignments, runs to the issue of time management. If that is the case make sure you are giving your students the appropriate amount of time to finish their work, so they do not have to worry about extra assignments. If it is only a few students who need extra time to finish their assignments, I would utilize any downtime like silent reading or during centers. As well as, possibly talking to those students one on one to see if their might be issues on why they need extra time and see how we can solve that together. |
