Case: Oh the politics Working in my church as a teacher was a dream come true. I love my church and enjoyed the people who go there. Our school got a new director. I had suspension of physical abuse to a child in my classroom so I brought it her attention. She told me to keep documentation on the situation and take pictures. I did. Then as things continued the mother came to me and told me her husband was hot tempter. I brought this to the directors attention. She told me that the parents went to the church and were very involved and I was wrong. She told me if I pursue it I would end up fired... Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!) As others have stated, you should definitely document as much of the situation as you can. I would report the incident to DCFS or an abuse hotline. I would also look into reporting your director, as she is not upholding her obligation to report suspicions of abuse, and is putting the child in danger as a result. |
