  Case: Local field trip
All the of the 2nd and 3rd-grade classes have been invited to a play. The theater is a 5-minute walking distance from the school. Our 3rd-grade class is in the back of the line. Each student has a buddy. One student is overly excited and running ahead. What to do?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
I would first kindly explain that we will all get there at the same time, so walk appropriately in your place with the classroom. Relate to them that you understand they are excited, and everyone includes yourself is also looking forward to getting there but we must respect the rules and be aware of the danger in running ahead. If needed explain running ahead has many risks including losing the class, tripping and injuring self and others, and if they do not listen then you could kindly "threaten" they are risking their participation in future trips by not listening and following expectations.
