I try to ignore them but is there a better way to handle this when it happens again? Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!) There should be classroom rules / procedures for students calling out. Along with these rules / procedures set up, there should be consequences for when this happens. Ignoring the comments will not make the student stop. There should be consequences given for the student calling out smart remarks and disrupting the class. The student could also have positive rewards if they turn the behavior around and can stop this behavior.
