Case: Tardy to class There is an EBD student that comes to class late every morning. Some days he walks in, and everything is just fine. Other days, he is upset and throws his backpack or slams his chair into the table. My cooperating teacher and I do what we can to prevent agitation when he comes in, but some days there's just no preventing an outburst... Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!) I would tell him when he comes into my classroom that if he was feeling upset to tell the teacher immediately and then maybe have a place for him to go and do his work alone for the day to give him some time to relax and release some of that negative energy. |
