Case: What does "teamwork" mean to you? Give an example.
If you are asked this question in a job interview for a teaching position: What are some things you should avoid when responding to this question? What might be some important points to stress that would get the interviewer's attention? How would you respond to this question?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
I would never state that I am a team player, it I will say that I can bring different views to the table. I would demonstrate with various examples I have from my experiences in the classroom.

Comments: I disagree with your solution. I think that you should be a team player, AND be bringing in different views to the table, while being a team player. That way other teachers and students will be able to depend on you as a affective and caring teacher. You can still be a team player, and be able to bring in your own ideas.

Comments: In the current educational system, a teacher must be team player or it will not be a good situation for the rest of the teachers within the team. You will not be hired if you say that you are not a team player.

Comments: If I were in this situation, I would not use this solution. This is because if you have a teacher that is not a team player, how can one collaborate with other teacher's about assignments and lesson plans?

Comments: The new Georgia Teacher Keys Evaluation System has a standard by which administrators rate a teachers "professionalism and communication." Professionalism is defined as "The teacher exhibits a commitment to professional ethics and the school’s mission, participates in professional growth opportunities to support student learning, and contributes to the profession." Communication is defined as "The teacher communicates effectively with students, parents or guardians, district and school personnel, and other stakeholders in ways that enhance student learning." You must contribute to your profession and communicate possible solutions for other co-workers. Developing Individualized Educational Plans requires teachers to collaborate and develop the best possible instructional accommodations that will best serve the needs of a student.
