Due to the fact that 99% of the teachers are okay with this rule and allow the students to play on their cell phones once their classwork is completed, my kids are constantly checking their phones for messages from the students in other classrooms. I am in 8th grade, would it be a good idea for me to set up a station on the back wall where the students have to place their phones until it is approved by me for them to use them? Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!) I think that would be a great idea, because it allows your classroom to be a distraction free environment. If your classroom arrangement involves cluster seating or table groups, another idea would be putting bins on the tables. This is good for when they are able to use their devices when you tell them to, and eliminates a long line to the bin in the back.
