I am dealing with a situation in my class where one of my students just sits at his desk all day and does absolutely nothing. It does not matter what I say or do. He just sits there and will not even pick up his pencil. What makes this situation worse is that I know he can do it and I know he is capable of great things! When I tested him at the beginning of the year he scored above average. What are some things I can do to help this situation? I have motivated and been as positive about this as I can. I have even made the parents aware and they keep saying her is like that at home as well. Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!) Mabey involve him in the lesson a lot and say positive praise.
