Case: Making fun of other students is not nice
There is a student who always comes to class late and stays past the schools time. I always see other students making fun of this students clothes that they wear. This student is always trying to fit in with the other students by making pranks in class and interrupting the teacher when they speak. I have tried to talk to this student but nothing seems to be working. Does anyone have any solutions for me? I can tell that it hurts this students feelings when they get made fun of. I feel like I have run out of options.
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
Punish the students who are teasing the student with a more difficult home life. Take more drastic measures with administration as this really needs to stop happening. Also send emails home to the families explaining the bullying. |

Comments: I do not think this is the best approach in order to change the uncomfortable situation. I think an email is too sloppy in this case I think a mini conference parent, child and teacher will be better. |

Comments: I think small steps need to be taken before the administrators are involved. Then if it continues, involve them in on whats going on and how to go forward. |

Comments: Punishing the students right away is not a good course of action as it would be better to talk with them first. |

Comments: I don't think punishment is necessary, but talking to these students about respect and kindness is a good idea. If the behavior doesn't stop them maybe punishment will be sufficient from there. |

Comments: I would not use this solution because it seems premature to send home a letter and get involved with admin. |
