  Case: Being a Gay Teacher
Mr. Harris is going to a job interview for a Physics Teacher position. His academic preparation is outstanding and his results as a teacher speak for themselves. He has been married to his husband David for 3 years and is scared his sexual orientation would hinder the process. He is scared to disclaim his sexual orientation during the interview.
What advice would you give Mr. Harris?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
Dependent on the school, district, and state's policies and laws regarding people of varying sexual orientation, it may be very concerning to disclose that type of information. Especially as the news voices many of the horror stories about people getting fired or not offered a job because of sexual orientation.
I would say that Mr. Harris should not worry about a situation in which that becomes a question to his abilities as a teacher. If, during the interview process, there is any reference or question to sexual orientation, I would recommend respectfully saying, "While I appreciate this opportunity to meet with you, I don't believe that (question) relates to my qualifications."

The suggested solution is respectful of the individual (student) No
The suggested solution is relevant to the case No
The suggested solution is reasonable (easy) for the teacher to implement No
The suggested solution is likely to solve the problem/issue No
The suggested solution is original No
Comments: Sexual orientation is not a justifiable reason for not offering a job to someone. It's also not something crucial mentioning in an interview. It doesn't affect ones teaching abilities thus it should not effect their hiring
