My university supervisor wants my lessons to be culturally sensitive with special attention to gender issues. She especially asked that I plan and teach a lesson on women's accomplishments. I really don't know what to do. I am not very knowledgeable on this topic. She said I could use children's literature—picture or chapter books. Any help will be appreciated. What should I teach? This can be a very fun and interesting lesson for both your students and for yourself. There is a recent book out called "She persisted". It highlights the achievements of women in varying professional fields. It explains a little bit of their background and what they have accomplished. It is an inspiring book!
