The vast majority of my students are ELL/ESOL students. Almost all of the student's parents are Spanish speakers that speak very little to no English. When we have to hold conferences throughout the year, we are often short staffed on translators. We are also encouraged NOT to use the students as translators. I propose that you try to use your resources of google translate as much as possible. I work at a grocery store where I have to do a lot of money transactions to other countries and even when the word is not exact the people can understand and are very understanding. Good luck.
