Home | How It Works | Stats Login | Register         Case: Disrespectful Students This week, my CT was out for a conference in Orlando. During this time, I took over with a substitute and a couple students were very disrespectful in my third period. They would completely ignore my comments, pull their phone out and rap profanities in the classroom. I tried everything to settle the situation(s). There aren't usually any issues when my CT is present, but I want students to understand that they must respect all teachers and adults. I ended up having one particular student sent to another class, and another sent to the office. What are some other ways that can help me manage student behavior when issues like this happen? Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!) Treat the classroom the same way the teacher did. Continue to implement the rules. Let the students know that while their "teacher" is gone you and the substitute are filling in but they need to show you two the same respect they show the teacher. Stand your ground. The students do not run the classroom.
