  Case: Sleeping Student
A student constantly falls asleep during class. You wake them up several times but they just fall back asleep. What is the best way to handle this? Do you bring it up to the parents? Do you let the child sleep? Is it fair to the other students to let the child sleep?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
Since this is a constant thing I would talk to the parents for sure. If it isn't a one time thing, then its something to do with their sleep schedule and clearly they are not getting enough sleep. If it continues, contact the counselor.

Comments: It's not always a case where a student doesn't get enough sleep. There are many sleep disorders that can affect someone's ability to sleep, either stopping them from sleeping entirely, waking them up in the middle of the night, just making them drowsy in general overall, etc.

While this information (if diagnosed) would be in the student's personal information, this solution still assumes that it *is* the student's fault in some way.

Comments: I agree, I think the parents should be the first ones contacted since i's reoccurring.
