Case: Teaching Styles
I am in a classroom with my CT and we have totally different teaching styles. She can be somewhat harsh to the students and quick to want to get them in trouble. I tend to give the students a fair shot and give them a chance to fix their behavior. I haven't brought this up to the attention of my CT because it hasn't been a problem. Should I bring it up to her?

Unfortunately, you can not dictate how your CT teaches the class as an intern. However, you may adapt to your own teaching style. I was in a similar situation last semester with my CT where I had a completely different teaching style than she. Although, I didn't agree with how she went about disciplining the students there is little I could do. I just came in with a smile on my face and did what I thought would be best for the students. |

Comments: How would adapting your teaching style change anything? Beyond having a system that the students are more familiar with, this wouldn't address the problem at hand. |
