Case: CT favorites
My CT has two favorite students in the class. It is very obvious to the other students who they are, and I can see the sadness on some of the other students faces when she gives them extra attention or tasks to do for her in the classroom. I'm just the intern so I am not sure it is my place to say anything to her. Should I say something? If so, what should I say?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
I would maybe just let her know some students feel left out and suggest cold calling students from popsicle sticks to do classroom tasks so everyone gets a fair chance. |

Comments: I think that sticks or a random name generator would be helpful in this situation to show the students that anyone can get called for the task. There may be times when a trusted students needs to run the errand so it may not be a good time to pull a name randomly. |

Comments: I have seen the popsicle stick strategy before and this actually works very well. It is reasonable to implement and would easily resolve students feeling like there are favorites. |

Comments: Without a doubt, find a way to make sure more students are being called on in the classroom. |

Comments: A great idea! We don't want to accidentally insult the CT. |

Comments: I think this is the best solution to implement for this issue. The pulling of popsicle sticks would give everyone a fair and equal chance and eliminate the favoritism. Speaking to the CT about the favoritism should be approached lightly and avoid calling her out for it or being negative. |
