Not only is it affecting his performance in school but it is becoming a distraction to my other students. I have spoken with his parents on many occasions but they failed to assist me regarding his actions. Since the parents does not care, does that mean that I should? Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!) Because you have this student, you should care. If the student is upset all day, he is not learning because he is focused on something else. Give the student some time in the morning to do something he likes or talk to him about what happened to upset him. Calming him down and getting him into the right mindset for the day will make it easier on everyone.
