  Case: Non Group Participation
How do you deal with students who are in a group but chose not to participate with the group ?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
If the student does not take initiative in participating, I would try assigning them a specific task to complete within their group. Tell the student what you would like them to do. If they still do not do anything, I would ask them to complete their work individually, and remove them from their group.

Comments: The ability to do group work is a necessary skill even if its not something you enjoy. I think that taking the student out of the group wouldn't be helpful.

Comments: I don't think removing them from the group would be a good idea because they could feel isolated but I do like how they can get a specific task in the group.

Comments: Removing the student from the group will not solve the problem and may even make it worse. This student would likely feel negative emotions as a consequence of being isolated and punished in this way.

Comments: First we need to figure out the problem before you should break up groups. Then, I would try this.

Comments: Removing this student from their group is not helpful because the idea is to teach them how to properly work in groups. This does not help the situation.
