Case: media
A group of teachers and administrators grapple with how to discipline a student who posted a nasty meme on a classmates social media feed. Should sharing a violent meme be treated differently than other violent speech?

I think this depends on the violent meme. If it has weapons in a threaten manner especially towards either other students or the school itself, this needs to be addressed to both the the parents and the students. However if it violence in video games I think this can be just asked calmly to the student. Ask them about the meaning of the meme, then go on from there. |
