Case: Non Group Participation
How do you deal with students who are in a group but chose not to participate with the group ?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
Ask the non-participating student why they choose not to participate, if the excuse is not valid enough, for example, I just don't feel like it, create a discipline chart with warnings that may have a sit out for recess, a call home, no fun Friday, etc. |

Comments: I do not think this is the best solution because discipline is not needed here. Creating a discipline chart is an extreme that should be reserved for only exceptional cases. Students just need a bit of prompting and help but there is nothing for them to be disciplined about. |

Comments: Encouraging participation should always be positive, in my opinion. This way students see school as a positive thing. |
