  Case: Shy does not talk
There is a student that is so shy that they will not speak to peers or the teacher. What would you do to get the student to open up and start talking?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
Establishing a positive relationship with the student may help in this situation. Try to connect with the student to help them feel more comfortable around you. Maybe try some ice breaker and get to know you activities. Pair this student with another friendly student to help them open up more.

I think that reaching out to the student is the best thing a teacher can do. By making a connection the student may feel more comfortable and welcomed into the class. This is the best solution.

Comments: I think this is the best option, creating a positive relationship with the student would allow them to feel more comfortable with the teacher and possibly grow to be able to speak up in class. Group work also allows them to have the opportunity to speak in a small setting where they can all work together and have their own opinions.

Comments: I like this idea but I would also try my best to be patient with the kid and not force the student to participate. I would let them open up on their time.

Comments: This is extremely important. Build a relationship with the student and give them alternate ways of communicating. They will open up once they have gotten used to communicating in general.

Comments: Yes, an ice breaker such as the name game where students go in a circle learning each others names may help greatly. In this game she will not only introduce herself, but say the names of her other peers as well.
