Case: ESE Teacher
The students is getting all their IEP minutes. The only issue is when I discuss with the teacher the needs it goes in one ear and floats out the other. I keep trying to help the teacher to understand the importance of where the student is struggling while in class. The ESE teacher blocks any ideas on how to help student be successful in my class. What should I do to best help student?

The teacher should be helping you out, but there are things you can do to help the ESE student. I would talk to the IEP team or administration to get more help in the classroom. For example, an assistant that works one on one with the student could be really helpful. The IDEA law says that schools are required to give special education services to students who need it. There are plenty of resources online for ESE students such as lesson plans. |
