Case: election
teachers wrestle with how to teach the controversial issues and topics raised during the 2016 election.
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
It is best for teacher to stay neutral when discussing the election, as teacher bias can alienate some students and skew the teacher's own lesson. A good idea is to tackle issues that are found from both the DNC and the GOP. The teacher could also maybe get coworkers with various opinions to review the lesson plan. |

Comments: Overall I found this solution to be highly effective in offering ones students a fair lesson plan. I especially liked the idea of getting a variety of coworkers to review any work for underlying bias. |

Comments: I think this is a good solution. Present the facts with no bias towards either side and allow the students to reach their own conclusions, or encourage friendly/civil discussion about the topics. As a teacher, you can have your own opinions or feelings, but you must not let them cloud the way you teach. |
