Case: Shy does not talk
There is a student that is so shy that they will not speak to peers or the teacher. What would you do to get the student to open up and start talking?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
I would not try to force the student to talk. As long at they are doing their work and there is no gap in achievement I would allow the student to come out of their shell naturally. Try bonding with the student and asking her personal questions during free time "I like cats, so you have any cats?". Eventually she will come out of her shell. |

Comments: I think it is a good idea for not be too pushy. If the student a working and if their work reflects understanding. Building up that relationship is being considerate to the student. |

Comments: I think students need to bond with their classmates pretty early on to establish a friend group. They will only feel more isolated and want to be quiet if everyone else has made friends and she is only comfortable speaking to the teacher. |

Comments: I dont think this is a necessarily bas solution, but i think it is our role as teachers to get every student participate, and getting the student out of their shell will help them in the future in team-working situations. |
