  Case: Paraprofessonal Issues
I teach kindergarten. I am having issues with my paraprofessional. Even when I ask her nicely to complete a task, she agrees to complete the task but then it does not get completed. I have spoken with administration regarding this issue and conferences have been held concerning her job performance. However, it will be after the conclusion of this school year that I may get a new paraprofessional. Any suggestions for the remainder of the school year?

It could be that she is unclear about the directions and is afraid to ask, even if that is the case I understand the difficulties. Maybe a checklist with a completion date and brief instructions would be helpful, however, if administration is aware of this issue, I would document everything and keep it on hand for when its needed. I would also have another conversation with her and let her know that you need her help to complete these tasks and if she is unsure, unclear, or cant to let you know immediately.

Comments: Documentation is good to have. Communicating is always good so it wouldn't hurt to have another conversation.
