Case: Online Work Issues
A teacher is constantly receiving completed work for the wrong class from an online student and is having a very hard time communicating with this student. The student doesn't participate in virtual learning conversations and doesn't respond to the teacher's emails, but the student is always present for the virtual class. The teacher isn't sure if the student is having a hard time keeping organized or if they are just not completing the work for this class. What is the next step the teacher should take since communication with the student isn't working?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
The teacher should reach out to the student/ parents in another form of communication such as a phone call home, since there are issues with reaching the student through online means, it's time to take another course of action. Also, since the student is always present in class, try directly involving the student in activities/ conversation, such as calling their name before you pose a question. |

Comments: I agree, try to contact the parents via email or phone call. You could also ask the student to stay after a virtual lesson that they have attended so that you can speak to the student directly. |

Comments: I believe this is the best solution to the situation at hand. The student's parents should be notified if the student is not communicating. Additionally, the student should be actively participating in the class and even be pulled to a separate call while in class to discuss what is going on. |

Comments: Agree. Contacting the student themself or possibly the parent is necessary to begin discovering the underlying nature of this issue. |
