Case: Microsoft Teams Glitching Issues
A few students don't pop-up as in class, but they are emailing the teacher saying they are having issues logging into the class. These students are all emailing the teacher that they are receiving an error log-in notice. These students don't want to be marked as absent, but the teacher doesn't have time to deal with these technical issues because he still has an entire in-person class of students to attend to. What resources are available for the online student and how can teachers be prepared for these types of issues when teaching during COVID?

Considering that technology can be unreliable at times, it is important to have backup activities and/or resources for students who are experiencing technical difficulties. Parents and students should be notified that technical difficulties do not interfere with attendance, as long as there is communication between the student/parents and teacher. The administration and/or technology support should also be notified to fix and hopefully prevent the problem from occurring again in the future. |

| Comments: I think this is the best thing to do. Have alternate assignments for the times when students cannot connect, and encourage them to email you explain the issue, but that you may not be able to get back to them or fix the problem immediately. They should work on an alternate assignment until they hear from you. Proof of this work will also help verify their "attendance". |

| Comments: I think that this is the best solution for the problem and provides the best information as well. The parents/tech support should most definitely be notified as often these technical problems stem from home. Often old computers are used as well as not having good internet service and cause the glitches that happen during virtual meetings. Having this resolved on the parent's end it a good fix. |
