Child is acting out due to the recent divorce of his parents. He says he is a bad kid. What can I do to help him?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
Reassure that the student knows its not his fault

The suggested solution is respectful of the individual (student) Yes
The suggested solution is relevant to the case Yes
The suggested solution is reasonable (easy) for the teacher to implement Yes
The suggested solution is likely to solve the problem/issue No
The suggested solution is original Yes
Comments: I believe this is a relatively simple solution to a complex situation but would not be considered the best answer. The student should be talked to and possibly even notified about the situation. You could even provide the student with some lessons or literature on his situation so that he can understand that he is not alone during this change.

Comments: This is not enough to change the child's mind. Reassuring him that its not their fault is not necessarily going to help them understand why it is not their fault. They have never been through a relationship and may need a different outlet to be able to cope with their parents divorce. I would not just use this advice.

Comments: Way to vague and everyone has already said this in previous solutions. There should be a lot more to this as it's not that easy.
