A report at NEA two years ago discussed how schools in Georgia, in the midst of major funding cuts for schools, had no choice but to lift all class size limits to accommodate students with the faculty the school system could still afford to keep. How can you manage a class that is 30+ students? Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!) I do not believe that is possible. Although the situation is not ideal the teacher still needs to have some structure and order inside the classroom other than just trying their best. We need to adapt and make new ways. It is still your class. If you think it is such a big challenge for the teacher, think about how all the kids feel to be crammed into one room. Others in this thread have posted some good ideas! There are many ways a teacher can manage a classroom, I would search for solutions that worked for my classroom and students.
