Case: Hovering Parent
What do I do when a parent tends to hover and baby their child? They think that their child can do no wrong and is the victim in every situation.
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
It's scary to think that there can be a "students word against the teachers word" dynamic but that's reality so the best thing you can do is your job. Know that you are doing what's legal, what's in your job description, and what's ethical. |

Comments: I've learned that anytime you find yourself in a situation where its your word against someone else's always have something to cover yourself. Meaning, always have documentation, write down things that you know is concerning/troubling, tell someone/let someone know, document things down, etc. So that way when you do get put in that situation your're covered. This goes for the teaching profession and any other situation you are faced with. |
