What are some ways I can make them more comfortable around me? The students do not speak a lot of English but I still want to help out in the classroom. Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!) First get to know their names, and pronounce them correctly. That would be showing that you are making the effort to know them. Learn some phrases that would help you communicate with them. Try to keep directions simple so that they can understand what is going on. Use plenty of visual aids or translations.
