  Case: Students always getting loud
In a class I substituted for, (second grade) the class was quiet at first and then the volume would always get ridiculously loud. I would remind them of the volume and it would stop for a minute but it seemed to always get loud again no matter how many times they were reminded. What could be done for this?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
This can be changed with a fun chant that the students know well. (Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh Reilly's) The students will have an immediate attention grabber that will cause them to interact back to the teacher before a lesson can be started.

Comments: While this is a helpful tactic, I am not sure it resolves the issue at hand. The purpose was for the substitute to maintain a lower classroom volume during class. The goal was not to grab the class's attention, simply to maintain calmness.

Comments: I think that this is a good idea and allows the students to be immediately redirected to their voice levels and to their tasks.

Comments: This solution is more of a distraction from the actual problem. Yes it grabs their attention, but it doesn't teach them why they shouldn’t be loud or explain any consequence.
