I try to ignore them but is there a better way to handle this when it happens again? Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!) I would honestly just ignore them. They're looking for attention and if you don't give it to them, they're more likely to give up. If it persists or gets worse, I would reach out to other teachers first, then have a discussion with the student and their parents about how the student is becoming a major distraction in class.
