He can't take the test within the time allotted, can't turn in assignments on time, or can't take notes, etc. He is requesting special consideration. I would assign those students who overheard our conversation some work to keep them busy. I would also bring awareness to students that people have different disabilities that can be physical, emotional, and or mental.
