Case: Social Media
Many of Mr. Smith's high school students have been adding her on Facebook, although she has not responded to any of the requests. She made a class announcement that she will not accept any friend requests until they graduate and are no longer at the school, is this appropriate?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
I think it all depends. If the instructor has a professional Facebook used for the morally right reasons (i.e - helpful tips or videos pertaining to education, links to helpful resources, professional photos and posts, etc) then I believe the students should be able to utilize the inevitable obsession with social media. I believe it can be a great platform to relate to your students. |

Comments: This was a solution I didn't think of, but yes I agree that it does depend on the way the social media is used. If it is for academic purposes, then it is ok. |
