Case: Co-Teacher Issues
I know a teacher who does not get along with their co-teacher. They are worried that this will translate to the students, if it hasn't already. How can they figure out a solution?

I believe a simple conversation may help handle this situation. If the issues are severe enough for the students to notice then the adults must talk it out. After trying a conversation, I would bring the issue to administration if it continues. |

| Comments: In my experience, if there is a problem, then it usually stems from something. Teachers are natural problem solvers. Fortunately, in my experience, when two teachers have an issue with each other, that means something has taken place. Unfortunately, we all don't have to luxury of trading teaching partners. I do agree there needs to be some form of mediation. I would recommend that one of them (or both) approach your department head and explain what has transpired so they can facilitate a mediation. Here they can obtain an independent perspective and, if need be, get you to agree to disagree but find common ground, so things remain civil. |
