Case: Won't Wear Their Masks
With COVID being a new obstacle teachers must face how can we encourage students to properly wear their mask at all times? Sometimes reminding them of the rules and dangers doesn't stop them. They still mess with the mask and take it off.
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
Honestly, if they cannot obey the rules, after constant warnings and being told to where the masks by teachers, then disciplinary action should be taken, to ensure that the rules are met.
Maybe writing students up on the first offense, then detention after the 2nd or 3rd. |

Comments: For older students I do believe that this would be effective, but for Elementary I do not think so. I would say that this could better be corrected with positive reinforcement, rewarding those who wear their masks and following the rules, and do not reward those who don't, as to incentivize mask wearing. I feel talking to the parents would be the most effective form of correction as at a younger age, they are likely modeling the behavior they see. |

Comments: I do not believe this would be effective for students, nor would it benefit their learning. Sending them to detention for keeping a mask on will only impede students' ability to learn new concepts in the classroom. Instead, positive reinforcement should be used, like extra recess, no homework, a reward point system, etc. |

Comments: I feel like after telling the student multiple times about wearing the mask constantly and they still disobey the rules then eventually it is time for disciplinary actions. I know some students may not agree with wearing a mask. But this is rule that has been going on since covid started and at this point the student should know for the safety of others and what has been going on just keep the mask on. Which is a simple request/command. |

Comments: Although disciplinary action may work, I do not think it is fair because people have different opinions about wearing mask including these students parents. It also depends on the state and school policy on masks because some of them allow you to choose if you want to wear one or not. |
