Case: Parents don’t believe my grades
Parents think that I am “out to get” their child with my grading. I have showed them the rubrics and they still don’t agree. What can I do?
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
Ask a teacher friend to grade a sample of their work after you. This second opinion might make you aware that you do grade harshly, or provide good evidence to parents that you're not!

Comments: I like this solution because it gives the parents the opportunity to see if it is just the original teachers grading or if the second opinion backs that teachers scores.

Comments: Love this idea. If not a coworker maybe even your administrator. Your administrator should be supporting you and not allowing parents to make you feel uncomfortable to do your job.

Comments: Yes, I agree! Getting a second opinion from another teacher is always a good idea. Some parents might not even accept this but I still think this is the most effective approach.
