  Case: Severe EBD
This student is in 1st grade. He is intensely aggressive when a situation or command triggers him. This student will aggress on himself, students, and staff, elope, and enter a mindset that is completely unreachable. He is an extremely lovable, sweet, and predictable child, in that he loves Pokemon and drawing. The classroom becomes unsafe on a daily basis and minimal learning is happening due to the constant occurrences from this student. There are 11 students in the class, an Instructional Assistant and the ESE teacher.
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
In my experience working with 1st graders who deal with EBD struggles, building a rapport and relationship with them is foundational. Going along with this is establishing a no-tolerance for certain behavior right away so that they know that these things are unacceptable without any negotiation. If you display interest and genuine care for them, they will not want to disappoint. Given their condition, situations will inevitably arise but this foundation will minimize the situations and will make correcting them an easier process.
