  Case: Inappropriate Behavior from Teacher
I work in a middle school class as a tutor once a week and I have noticed that one of the teachers I work with is showing more and more inappropriate behavior towards the students. She is very easily offended, and is very defensive. She always thinks students are talking bad about her and will often say things like "if you have something to say, say it to my face", "you're not man enough to talk to me about it" and other majorly inappropriate things to say to an 11-14 year old kid. She clearly shows favorites and has said to a kid, "I wish you would just leave", and has called one particular student a "bitch" and a "lost cause", both times in front of other students. I feel like her behavior is getting worse as the year goes on. I have even felt like the anger was directed at me once because I have a good relationship with a particular group of kids I work with and she thought they were talking bad about her to me. Afterwards, she angrily called them "your little friends" to me. As I am only a tutor, and am barely recognized as an actual employee of the school, what should I do? I never know what attitude I am going to walk into, and when it is a bad day for her, she makes her students, and me, miserable.
Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!)
I would talk to the schools principal especially if you are only a tutor there. That kind of behavior towards you and the kids is not acceptable at all. I feel as if this teacher should find ways to communicate to her students and you better. She should not let any child especially middle school students get her that worked up. They are kids at the end of the day and although kids can be mean their words should not affect us as adults personally. Speaking to the kids rudely and cussing at them also breaks the respect and trust in the classroom between the students and the teacher.
