Not only is it affecting his performance in school but it is becoming a distraction to my other students. I have spoken with his parents on many occasions but they failed to assist me regarding his actions. Since the parents does not care, does that mean that I should? Solution: (Rates are posted for this solution!) You should always care about your students. I would try to talk to the student asking why they are upset and if you can do anything to help them. If the parent is not cooperating with you I would try reaching out to the schools, guidance counselor, social worker (depending on the situation), and the principal for additional help.
