Case: Student Teachers and Dress Codes:
A current student-teacher circling around social media currently got removed from her education program and degree path and her current school and university took her out of her student teaching experience to her getting dress coded twice. There was only 1 verbal response, and 1 written response. The student intern shows up to school and all is well for a few weeks, then gets a call from the program director saying that the school does not want her back and that is cannot continue in her program anymore.
Was this right, to handle this situation like this?

The way the situation was handled does not seem right. I think the school she was interning at should have addressed the dress code with her and tell her the consequences that may happen if she shows up out of dress code again. I also think the dress code should be addressed before interning starts as well. It seems strange that she was removed from the program as a whole over a dress code that only happened twice. Now if she were to know about the dress code beforehand and continued to not follow it, then I believe being removed is a reasonable consequence. |
